Human skin is characterized by a constant process of keratinization \u2013 the dying off of cells in the upper layers of the epidermis (keratinocytes) and their replacement with new ones. This is a natural process necessary for the mechanical protection of the body from the environment: bacteria, ultraviolet radiation, viruses.<\/p>\n

Sometimes the normal course of this process can be disrupted for various reasons. The problem of thickening of the stratum corneum is expressed in the adhesion of dead cells, which need to be exfoliated. For this purpose, various organic acids are used in cosmetic practice: mandelic, glycolic, lactic, pyruvic, salicylic, ferulic, and others.<\/p>\n

Chemical peeling<\/strong> is an exfoliation procedure that results in a comprehensive renewal of the skin. By using various acids, it is possible not only to exfoliate dead skin cells but also to provide a therapeutic effect on acne, smooth out fine lines and wrinkles, eliminate hyperpigmentation, and achieve a powerful lifting effect. Peeling stimulates the process of skin regeneration and the production of collagen, which restores elasticity, firmness, and a healthy complexion.<\/p>\n

Chemical peeling is divided into 3 types depending on the depth of acid penetration: superficial, medium, and deep.<\/p>\n

The superficial peeling<\/strong> procedure involves the action of the acid used only on the epidermis and upper layers of the dermis. It provides exfoliation of dead cells, tightens enlarged pores, regulates sebum production, kills pathogenic bacteria that cause acne, removes mild pigmentation, hydrates the skin, and makes the face smooth and fresh.<\/p>\n

Medium peeling<\/strong> involves the penetration of acid into the middle layer of the dermis. This procedure is ideal for problems of hyperkeratosis, enlarged pores and very oily skin, scars of various etiologies, uneven skin texture, acne, age spots, pronounced wrinkles, and stretch marks.<\/p>\n

Deep (phenolic) peeling is not included in our services because it has a very complex rehabilitation period, similar to plastic surgery, and is characterized by a high likelihood of serious side effects.<\/p>\n

Effect of the peeling procedure:<\/div>\n

  • Deep exfoliation of the skin;<\/li>\n
  • Smoothing of the texture;<\/li>\n
  • Increased elasticity;<\/li>\n
  • Reduced appearance of wrinkles;<\/li>\n
  • Restoration of a healthy skin color;<\/li>\n
  • Elimination of acne;<\/li>\n
  • Narrowing of enlarged pores;<\/li>\n
  • Lightening of age spots;<\/li>\n
  • Scar resurfacing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    The result of peeling becomes noticeable after the first session. However, for a more lasting effect, it is recommended to undergo such a procedure in a course of 3-5 sessions with an interval of 7-10 days, depending on the initial condition of the skin and indications.<\/p>\n

    The procedure is contraindicated in the following cases:<\/div>\n
      \n
    • Pregnancy;<\/li>\n
    • Malignant neoplasms;<\/li>\n
    • Inflammatory processes;<\/li>\n
    • Chronic skin diseases;<\/li>\n
    • Tendency to skin scarring;<\/li>\n
    • Herpes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
      Post-procedure care<\/div>\n

      1. It is not recommended to independently remove peeling crusts, as this may lead to scarring or unwanted pigmentation.<\/li>\n
      2. Washing and applying cosmetics are recommended no earlier than 12 hours after the procedure, using warm water.<\/li>\n
      3. During the week after the peeling procedure, it is strictly forbidden to go outside without applying a sunscreen with a high protection factor.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
