Wax Depilation

Wax depilation

Wax depilation is one of the methods for removing unwanted hair from the body using cosmetic wax. This method of hair removal has been known for many years. In ancient times, natural beeswax was used for depilation. Of course, back then, the product was not as effective as it is today. Modern cosmetology uses various types of wax designed for depilation of specific body areas.

Depending on the hair structure, skin thickness in the treatment area, and skin characteristics, cosmetology uses waxes of different temperatures, with or without additional components. If hair removal is needed on large areas of the body, natural wax is used. For small delicate areas (bikini area, armpits, face), special wax with anti-inflammatory, gentle properties is used.

For depilation, three types of wax are used: hot, cold, or warm. In our center, the wax depilation procedure is performed using hot or warm wax. Warm wax is a material with a low temperature that is heated to 40 to 45 degrees Celsius. The depilation procedure using warm wax is convenient and quick, especially on large surfaces such as legs, arms, back, and buttocks.

Hot wax is a depilation material with high temperature indicators, heated to 50 to 60 degrees Celsius. It is intended for use in the most delicate areas, where the skin is highly sensitive. Due to the high temperature, pores can be expanded, allowing hair to be removed painlessly. This type of depilation should not be performed at home due to the risk of burns.

Procedure Steps

Wax depilation can be performed when the hair length is 4-5 mm. The first step of the procedure is degreasing the skin surface with a special lotion. The next step involves applying wax to the target area and removing the hair with a quick motion. For warm wax, paper strips are used. Working with hot wax involves allowing the material to harden before removing it. The final step of the procedure is applying a lotion with antiseptic and cooling effects to relieve irritation and slow down hair growth.

Effectiveness of Wax Depilation

Wax depilation is a universal method for removing unwanted hair for everyone, as there are practically no contraindications. The essence of this method is the removal of hair along with the root. The duration of the procedure is between 20 minutes and 1 hour. The result lasts for 3-6 weeks. This type of hair removal can be used regardless of skin type and hair color.

Contraindications for the Procedure

Contraindications for wax depilation include the following factors:

  • Various skin diseases;
