Bio-reinforcement

Bio-reinforcement is an effective approach to restoring facial contours. This method involves the injection of filler gels into the skin, creating a kind of reinforcing mesh. These gels help form a strong framework within the skin, resulting in a powerful lifting effect on the middle and lower thirds of the face. Typically, doctors prefer bio-reinforcement in cases where there is a need to strengthen and thicken the skin on the cheeks, eliminate nasolabial folds, lift downturned corners of the mouth, or address emerging “bulldog cheeks.”
Bio-reinforcement can be performed with fillers (boosters) based on hyaluronic acid or other fillers. Hyaluronic acid-based products are completely hypoallergenic and safe for the body. These products are 100% compatible with the skin and do not cause any side effects after application.
In some patients, hyaluronic acid-based products may be absorbed faster than desired. In such cases, the thread lifting technique is recommended, which involves the introduction of mesothreads made of polydioxanone or polylactic acid. This procedure is used when hyaluronic acid products do not provide the desired effect.
We recommend the bio-reinforcement procedure for patients aged 35 to 65, based on indications. The procedure is carried out in standard conditions in a cosmetic clinic with preliminary topical anesthesia. The procedure is quite easy to tolerate. When using a cannula (a blunt, flexible needle), trauma is completely excluded. The recovery period is minimal—up to 2 days. Compared to a surgical facelift of the middle and lower thirds of the face, bio-reinforcement is a simple procedure that provides amazing results with minimal trauma.
Indications for Bio-reinforcement
- skin laxity;
- moderately pronounced wrinkles;
- gravitational changes in facial contours (ptosis).
Effects of the Bio-reinforcement Procedure
Bio-reinforcement is performed once. The pronounced lifting effect is noticeable immediately after the procedure. The overall effect typically lasts for about 1 year. As a result, moderate wrinkles disappear, folds and sagging skin are eliminated, the face looks lifted, skin elasticity improves, and the facial contour is enhanced.
Contraindications to Bio-reinforcement
- pregnancy,
- breastfeeding;
- use of antibiotics or anticoagulants;
- hemophilia;
- tendency to scar formation;
- inflammatory or infectious processes on facial skin.
Side Effects
Bio-reinforcement is characterized by the absence of adverse reactions from the body. In some cases, there may be redness, small internal hematomas, and injection marks. These reactions usually disappear within 1-2 days.
Post-injection Recommendations
- To prevent infection, avoid touching or massaging the injection sites with your hands;
- Avoid taking hot baths, going to saunas, or visiting steam baths for 7 days;
- After the procedure, it is not advisable to use cosmetics in the treated area;
- Avoid exposing the skin to direct sunlight and do not visit tanning salons for 7 days.
